This trip takes you to Masai Mara National Reserve. Mara is a large national game reserve in Narok, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honour of the Maasai people. The reserve is famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness area in Africa known for its large populations of lions, African leopards, cheetah and African bush elephants. The major activity done is game drive and for this, we drive through the park as we spot different wildlife as we head towards the Mara River to witness the wildebeest migration.

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will be met by our safari guide at your residence in Nairobi and start the journey to Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive will take you through the dramatic Great Rift Valley. The reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world with large mammals that are easy to see. Some include Maasai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland, and thousands of plains game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, as well as both Thomson’s and grants gazelles. If you arrive early enough, do evening game drive.

Day 2: Game drive in Masai Mara

After breakfast at the lodge, drive to the park for our full day game drive. You will drive as you head towards the Mara River. On the large Mara plains, you will expect to see large herds of wildlife grazing like buffalo, elephant, eland, zebra, wildebeest, impala, gazelle among others. Also expect to spot lions, leopard, and cheetah, look out for some hyenas too. You will have packed lunch at the Mara River. If its migration time, you will get the opportunity to experience the great wildebeest migration. At the river, you will spot Nile crocodiles and hippos as well as several water bird species.

Day 3: Transfer back to Nairobi

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and get ready to drive back to Nairobi. But before you go, you might consider visiting a Maasai village/homestead. You get to be entertained by Maasai singing and dancing that is part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. You get to learn about their culture and social life. You may also choose to do a short morning game drive and then drive to Nairobi.

Drop off will be at your residence in Nairobi.
